Google and Retailer Search Results

A recent Retail Dive article, outlined Google's push to prioritize retailer search results. There's a fee, but it seems to be their way of combatting the fact that more and more product searches happen first on Amazon.

Several major retailers, Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Costco, and Ulta Beauty to name a few, have signed up to have their merchandise/product catalogs prioritized in Google search results, the Google Express shopping service, and the Google Assistant virtual assistant platform.

Of note: retailers in the program have seen average basket size increase by 30% since joining the program: Ulta's Average Order Value (AOV) rose 35% and Target's rose 20%
